ABOUT ME
I discovered the miracle of Emu Oil and its many benefits through a very compassionate woman named Barbara who has become a very dear friend of mine, even though we live on opposite sides of the continent. Through Barbara I not only learned of the benefits of Emu Oil, but gained a confidant and person I can conmiserate with since we both have many of the same ailments, the two hardest to deal with -- for me -- anyway, is trauma-induced arthritis (shattered elbow & shattered ankle from different accidents plus several surgeries on each) and my newly diagnosed fibromyalgia, although I've had all the symptoms for years as I've come to realize. I have recently had back surgery and my lower vertebrae are now fused. I am still in the recovery process. The last two years have been terribly pain filled and I have had to rely on pain pills again in the last couple of months before surgery. Between a bulging disc and the L-5, L-4 & L-3 vertebrae moving all over the place, my spinal cord and nerve bundles to my legs were being traumatized every time I took a step, moved, turned, bent down (as much as I was able). Post surgery, I am home, not back to full time work at my "day" job yet, and pretty weak still. The incisions are healing nicely, and YES, I am putting Emu Oil on it, which is making it heal faster as well. My doctors are very pleased with how well the tissue is healing around the incision. Since Emu Oil also has antibacterial and antifungal properties, it is keeping the incision healthy and disease free too. Through Barbara I also met dShae, whose products I have offered on my site and now Emu Oil Naturally has taken over the dShae's Essentials line and most of the products are now under the EON label. All the products are of very high quality, luxurious enough for the wealthy yet priced affordably, just as deShea always had them. I follow in her footsteps. The products are made with 100% pure fully refined Emu Oil. Shae and her husband Julio, raised Emus so her products are from bird to finished product. Shae was involved with every step in the product process to make sure everything is done to meet or exceed AEA (American Emu Association) standards. Because of family responsibilities, and her own declining health, Shae needed to stop and I took over. I am truly blessed by the two women who have shown me so much about how exceptional Emu Oil really is. deShea has also become a very close friend of mine and suffers the same maladies as Barbara and I. My main goal for this website is to reach people who may be struggling with pain of any kind, including arthritis and the various, often debilitating symptoms of fibromyalgia that I'm aware of first hand. I know there are many more people out there, like I was, trying to cope with the aches and pains, sometimes intense, that had no rational explanation, yet did not want to use pain pills as a way to cope. Coming from "strong stock" as Grandpa always said, he (and other family members) encouraged me not to complain about a little ache or pain, just go on about my business. As a result, I developed quite a high pain tolerance. As a kid, I was very active in sports when I was in junior high & high school. Looking back I know now I even then starting to have fibromyalgia symptoms. It also explained why one of my aunts was always feeling bad. It was never diagnosed, but her pain was remarkably similar to what I go through now. Doctors back then didn't understand what fibromyalgia was, let alone have a name for it. I got tired of being told it was "all in my head" so I just dealt with the symptoms in my own way, which was to ignore it for the most part. I did take a lot of NSAIDS at one point, but other than that, I just was in constant pain. Yet, trying to block out the pain was exhausting and often didn't work. Then when I did have a "good" day, I usually overdid it and the pain was there to remind me I wasn't like a normal person. There were times when I really did feel like I was going crazy. Throughout the years when I was raising my children, But how does Emu Oil work for me? I now take the supplements as well as use the topical creams on my elbow, ankle, wrists (for carpal tunnel) and fingers (sports injuries) and very bad lower back (from a surfing accident in my early teens). I was very skeptical when Barbara urged me to try Emu Oil, after all, until I met Barbara, I'd never even heard of Emu Oil. Since nothing from "modern medicine" had really helped me all these years and I have always preferred natural remedies all my life...I tried it. Emu Oil worked for me too! Within two days of using the Emu Oil cream, I noticed a vast improvement in the size of my "bad" ankle, which was always swollen so badly it didn't even look like an ankle, as well as the pain was lessened. As stated above, I am using it to help heal the back surgery incision as well, which it is doing quite well. Previously, if I did anything strenuous, including just a normal day at the office, my ankle swelled even more. But within 2 days of using the cream, the swelling had gone down---and stays down now, even when I am doing something strenous. It looks much more like a "normal" ankle again! Even my shattered elbow, has reduced in size although not as dramatically as my ankle, so I have seen visible results in a very short time. Plus, the pain is much more manageable than it had ever been, without NSAIDS or perscriptions which I hate to take. An additional benefit I'm glad to report is the Emu Oil supplements are helping me reduce my LDL (bad) cholesterol level. Another benefit I've discovered is my menopausal symptoms have reduced considerably. These are just added benefits from my use of Emu Oil, there are plenty of others. Emu Oil is such a versatile natural remedy, for so many things besides the pain relief, I want everyone to realize its benefits! Believe me, I was--and still am-- amazed at the power and versatility of Emu Oil! Thanks for listening, I wanted to add some other things I've discovered about Emu Oil since I've been using the products. First, even though I'm in menopause, I chose not to go on hormone therapy when it hit February 2004 and was basically just going to let it run its course naturally. I did incorporate more soy in my diet, which helped. But since using the Emu Oil capsules, I can't remember the last time I had a hot flash--whether at night (they used to always wake me up) or during the day. I read research where EFA's (essential fatty acids) can help menopause. It wasn't my intention to use the gelcaps for this benefit since my main objective was pain relief. Emu Oil may not work this way for every woman, but I'm very glad it works for me! On a different slant, I have been dying my hair since I was 16 when I discovered I had gray hair already. Since I am now way past the teenage years, I have kept up dying my hair. However, as any one who has dyed their hair knows, it DOES damage hair. I don't use much of anything else damaging to my hair (good thing!) so I think I've been lucky so far. It's still really thick. Since I prefer my hair at least to my shoulders, the ends can get in pretty bad shape. I tried an experiment with Emu Oil by massaging some into my hair, especially the ends & lower hair that is older BEFORE I put the dye on. I did my normal routine as usual. When I washed the dye out, my hair felt better than if I hadn't used the Emu Oil. I did still had to use the conditioner afterwards, yet I can't get over how much better my hair was after rinsing the dye out. Another thing I noticed is the dye seems to have covered my hair better; the color looks richer. It might be my imagination but I'm going to keep doing this. I know it won't hurt my hair and the benefits could accumulate. Only time will tell. By the way, if you have any problems with thinning hair, you should take a look at the article on the Research page. EMU OIL GOOD FOR PETS TOO?Yes! Emu Oil is effective for your beloved dog, aging cat, feather-pulling parrot, injured horse ... As a personal example, my long coat Chihuahua, Rusty, has benefited from Emu Oil. His coat has never been full or luxurious since I've had him. Rusty was a rescue and from what I was told, he lost all his fur after his neutering and it never fully came back, although he had his fur in all the right places. I had purchased an Emu Oil shampoo that didn't work on my hair, (not the one Shae & ReNu Labs developed that is sold on this site) but did wonders for his, making it very soft and silky. As an example of what Emu Oil can do for pets, early in the summer of 2005, for no known reason, Do you have cats? Or even a dog that is having skin problems from fleas?
